Internal Stakeholder Meeting Held at SHMYO

An internal stakeholder meeting was held at Aksaray University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) to enhance educational processes and improve physical infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Sports Sciences, the Disability Support Unit Coordination Office, SHMYO administration, academic and administrative staff, as well as student representatives. During the meeting, student demands and expectations, curriculum development, and accessibility issues were discussed.

Within the scope of the discussions, several measures to improve campus security were addressed, including implementing identity checks at entrances, regulating vehicle entry and exit, and establishing a license plate registration system. It was also emphasized that campus transportation should be made safer and that inspections, especially during evening hours, should be increased.

Accessibility for individuals with disabilities was another key topic of the meeting. In this regard, it was proposed to conduct building accessibility assessments, improve access to common areas, arrange conference hall entrances and stage access (e.g., ramps), and develop emergency action plans tailored for individuals with disabilities.

Regarding education, there was a consensus on updating the curriculum by introducing new courses, strengthening practical training opportunities, and adapting teaching methods to be more inclusive for individuals with disabilities.

Additionally, social and physical needs expressed by students were evaluated. Suggestions included increasing recreational areas around the building and carrying out various improvement works. In line with student requests, it was decided to organize a white coat ceremony at the end of the academic year.

The internal stakeholder meeting is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education at SHMYO and to creating a more accessible and secure campus environment.
